Energy infrastructure targeted in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have faced escalating attacks in recent weeks

During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused blackouts in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Several individuals were hurt while residents in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and faced disruption to drinking water, as stated by local authorities.

At the same time, a seven-year-old child was fatally injured in a separate assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, according to local officials.

Moscow has intensified attacks on electrical systems over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "real steps" from partner nations to apply pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the United States, Europe and the major economies - in delivering protection systems and enforcing sanctions," mentioned in a public message.

Officials stated that numerous aerial vehicles and several dozen missiles struck energy facilities, characterizing such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

Government representatives said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were laboring to repair systems.

A series of attacks hit energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Several of the people injured in the assaults on the city have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by municipal representatives.
